This suggest that one person buy or delivered to the home the newspaper where the whole family read it. The audience that is targeted is families in the local area and making that the newspaper has a bit for ever
ybody that interests every family member.

A Market Research Survey conducted on behalf of The News by NOP (National Opinion Poll) using Jicreg standards has revealed that 64% of local adults have read The News within the last week, this increases to 70% over the course of a month.

The profile of The News readers is very similar to that of the local population so it therefore appeals to all age groups

and types of people, it has in the last few years seen a significant increase in readers aged 15-24 years.

The News remains the main source of information with 67% of local adults turning to it for local news etc. Readers spend over 31 minutes reading an issue of The News.

Pre-Production: Local Newspaper



What is local newspaper?
A local newspaper is a publication containing news, information, and advertising. General-interest newspapers often feature articles on political events, crime, business, art/entertainment, society and sports in the
local area.

What is newsworthiness?
The quality of being sufficiently interesting to be reported in the newspaper.

What is inverted pyramid?
Journalists usually describe the organization or structure of a news story as an inverted pyramid. The journalist puts the essential and most interesting elements of his or her story at the beginning, with supporting information following in order of diminishing importance.


What is human interest story?
Is a feature story that discusses a person or people in an interactive and/or emotional way. It presents people and
their problems, concerns, or achievements in a way that brings about interest or sympathy in the reader.


What is ethos?
The disposition, character, or fundamental values peculiar to a specific person their opinion on people, culture, or movement.



How this is express in newspaper language....
The newspapers use ethos expressing there own opinion in their own newspaper. For example the national newspaper The Daily Mail are very vocal giving there opinion on today's events.
