A Market Research Survey conducted on behalf of The News by NOP (National Opinion Poll) using Jicreg standards has revealed that 64% of local adults have read The News within the last week, this increases to 70% over the course of a month.

The profile of The News readers is very similar to that of the local population so it therefore appeals to all age groups

and types of people, it has in the last few years seen a significant increase in readers aged 15-24 years.

The News remains the main source of information with 67% of local adults turning to it for local news etc. Readers spend over 31 minutes reading an issue of The News.
